Aside from helping those in need of food and other basics for the Chag. Manna, Meir Panim has also stepped up to help families displaced from the North during this time, providing essential support, including food and so much more. Let’s come together and make a difference in our community!

In October 2023, during the conflict in northern Israel, Maya and her two teenage children were forced to flee their home in Kiryat Shmona due to relentless rocket fire. With only the clothes on their backs, they sought refuge in a crowded Eilat hotel.

Displaced and struggling with the loss of her home and support network, Maya faced mounting challenges. Determined to provide stability for her family, she found hope through an introduction to Ilanit Chafuta, manager of our Or Akiva branch. With Ilanit’s help, Maya secured an apartment and furnished it with donations from our warehouse.

Maya’s journey highlights the crucial role organisations like ours play. We go beyond addressing immediate needs, offering hope and a path to recovery for the lives of people shattered by the conflict.

“Today over 2 million Israelis live under the poverty line. We understand what hunger and isolation look like. Since October 7th, 2023, we have been helping families displaced from their home by the war too. Help us support displaced families and Israel’s hungry with shopping vouchers to meet the cost of buying kosher for Passover food. Give them the means to create their own seder and celebrate the festival with dignity and a sense of home”.

During Covid, Or Akiva, one of Manna Meir Panim’s five branches recognised the immediate need to provide cooked meals to those who needed it most. They stepped up to the plate providing meals for up to 2,000 people per day.
