Zion, was a hardworking man, a resident of Or Akiva in Israel, who managed to get by in his life until he was diagnosed with cancer. He was left unable to work and was exhausted from his treatments. Even with the government unemployment and disability assistance, Zion was unable to make ends meet, and certainly unable to care for himself.

Ilanit the head of Manna Meir Panim Centre in Or Akiva, together with her volunteers, took him under her wing, taking care of all his meals - making sure he had home cooked packages delivered daily, checking in not only on his nutritional needs, but also his emotional wellbeing.

Since making a complete recovery, Zion is now back at work and is able to serve those in need of a helping hand himself, as an indispensable volunteer in our facility, multiple times a week. He offers a warm greeting to each person who comes through the door and a unique perspective from somebody who truly understands what it is like to receive help when you need it most. 

Like Zion, many families who have a loved one suffering with cancer, receive daily support from Manna Meir Panim branches all over Israel.

With your support and kindness, this Rosh Hashanah we can help many more people like Zion and his family who need our support now more than ever.

Israel is still struggling to overcome the financial devastation caused by the pandemic. Now, with inflation rising and the cost of living skyrocketing, as well as the political unrest,recovering is an even greater challenge.

Manna Meir Panim has consistently experienced 2-3x the demand for our services, with many in need of help for the first time in their lives. 

We are dedicated to serving the needs of our community and helping as many people as possible for as long as it takes. Manna Meir Panim addressed the situation by purchasing the

additional equipment and materials necessary to produce enough meals at our branch as well as expanding our takeout and Meals-on-Wheels services to meet the growing demand

of those in need. 

Due to the dramatic increase in the number of daily meals being provided and the rising inflation, our budget is strained, and the need for funding is critical to keep up with demand.

Manna Meir Panim is committed to making sure no one is without food, and our goal is to provide uninterrupted and sustained programming for as many people as possible, as long

as it takes to get them back on their feet.

This year, we need your support more than ever, so we can continue to meet the need of each person that approaches us for a helping hand.
