Lydia, Holocaust survivor
Lydia, Holocaust survivor

We found Lydia, a Holocaust survivor, collecting leftovers from the ground at the end of the market day in Or Akivah, We offered her our help. She said she would accept it only if she could give something back. She offered to become Meir Panim’s official photographer in Or Akiva. Today, Lydia, the photographer receives a daily hot meal from Meir Panim and a Food Shopping Card before Pesach and Rosh Hashanah.

A lot of children in Israel don't get breakfast. Tammy doesn't get lunch either.
A lot of children in Israel don't get breakfast. Tammy doesn't get lunch either.

1.7 million Israelis live below the poverty line, and this includes several hundred thousand children. Children like 8 year-old Tammy. Tammy often just gets a glass of water for breakfast. She also goes to school without anything for lunch and has to share her friend Ayala’s fruit or if she’s lucky, a bit of her sandwich.

The one solid meal Tammy’s family get each day is from Meir Panim, the organisation for which Manna is the UK branch. You can make a real difference. You can put challah on the tables of Israeli families this Shabbat. You can deliver a hot meal to a Holocaust survivor. You can provide a child’s lunch. You can do all this.
